Announcements

Closing and awards ceremony will be on Sunday, November 22, at 1 p.m., location TBA.  Players should wear their uniforms (no cleats!), and a team manager should bring the banner 15 minute prior to the ceremony for the banner display.  If anyone has pictures that we can use for the slide show, please send them to Christine, christine @ everydisasters.com.

Congratulations to us! At the 2009 AYSO National Annual General Meeting (NAGM) in Dallas, Region 1089 received a "Green Thumb" Award, given to regions, areas, and sections that actively support growth through the use of AYSO Programs.  You can read the letter, and see our certificate.
The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) has earned a National Leadership Award from the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) for "its outstanding work in providing a positive environment for youth athletes."   Read all about it here.

To our young players
:
If you are at least 10 years old, come and check out what it takes to be an AYSO Youth coach and help assist at the U8, U10 or U12 level. Or become a Youth Referee! Volunteering is a resume builder.  Being an AYSO volunteer can be a form of community service (check with your service group or advisor).

Check out "Leonia AYSO for Big Kids" on Facebook. We want to hear what you think about the new U14 division, a possible U16 and/or U19 division as well. AYSO wants you back.

VOLUNTEERS: YOU MUST REGISTER ANNUALLY!!  Fill out the form at www.eayso.org and print out two copies.  We will collect forms at our clinics, volunteer meetings, and training sessions.  Contact the following people if you are interested in volunteering:
